I'm surprised that Rhodes, Gregory, and Mankad batted as low as 11. Surely they weren't that bad.
Rhodes was an #11 at the start of his career; (Syd) Gregory batting there was likely a result of some reversed order. Not sure about Mankad.

Ben Stokes has opened and batted everywhere from 3-11, just hasn't batted both 1 & 2 to technically complete the set
I'd not realised that. There are quite a lot of players who have batted in nine or ten positions but the closest to a full set who misses out is one I've read about since my previous post - Nasim-ul-Ghani batted in every position from opener to number 11, but apparently never actually faced the first ball of an innings so technically never batted at number one.

Tbh for cases such as Stokes as Nasim-ul-Ghani, I'd count them as having batted everywhere for all intents and purposes as I'm quite happy for positions 1-2 to be lumped together under 'Opening' as they're basically the same. I mean, if established opener normally faces the first ball, but changes to 2 because a debutant likes facing first or something, no-one goes "Ooh hang on, Cook's batting out of position here" or anything

Surely Cook does
