Rice was named as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year for 1981 and was South African Cricketer of the Year four times; he was also judged the best all rounder in English First-Class cricket in 1977, 1979 and 1981 - the latter, of course, the year of Botham's all round exploits in The Ashes, which shows how dominant Rice must have been to get that accolade.

Which infinity? Plus or minus?

And as overall cricketers, red ball (and to some extent, white ball) as a whole should be considered.
As the word less is used, it already is in a negative. For it to stay that way, we will take the positive infinity (which is what we usually use really..... No one asks +1 or -1 when said 1 less).

Don't really think you got the point.

lim x-->0+ 4/x= positive Infinity.
lim x-->0- 4/x= negative Infinity.

It has two limiting values. That's why it's undefined.
(I know you know this. You just missed it)
