Better pure wicketkeeper: de Villiers or Flower?

Who was the better Test gloveman (excluding batting)?

Didn't Ambrose belonged to the Gen you grew up watching??
Yeah, but the others didn't, therefore my information on Marshall and before came from my parents, whom rated Ambrose as the best ever.

... thinking on it, it might've been to appease me.

Not Terrible
Flower had the great benefit of playing for a team where he didn't have to worry about catching the ball very often

...No? the OP says it's a comparison as a glovesmen, batting aside, so it's a comparison of their keeping ability solely rather than their careers as a wicketkeeper-batsmen.
Yep, my question’s entirely about pure ability with the gloves, not “greatness as a keeper-bat” or anything else.
