didnt score a century in 11 tests in India and Pakistan. All the average is Sri Lanka and to be the best in Asia, you have to do well across Asian conditions
He scored 92* to set up a test win in Pakistan where he averaged 50. That's worth more than any century.

Lloyd's record in Australia and India is gun
He aged like fine wine, too - Lloyd had a three-year period in his late 30s where he averaged 70, all while finding time for the little matter of captaining arguably the greatest side in history. A magnificent player.

all the while looking more like a professor at the University of the West Indies than a champion cricketer

Strong and tough personality uniting the islands and managing some serious big egos. Charismatic too. And as a batsman, yeah while all he always seemed to blossom against Australia and in India, he had a very late peak. His final career average was the highest average he had ever attained since his first three years. Very entertaining to watch too. Those cover drives off the back foot on one knee take me to a better world.
