I think he's the Khan on the list.
This is my second facepalm moment of the day already.

Anyway, it's probably still Tendulkar IMO. Sehwag is a good shout but was he really better than Tendulkar on turners?

Adorable Asshole

I was tempted to vote for him - he was fantastic in Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the UAE, but surprisingly mediocre in India.
He wasn't great in India but to call him mediocre in India is just reading stats at face value.

He had two series in India. One in 2005 where he averaged 24 and other in 2010 where in averaged 49. The 2005 was hard one for batsman and Sachin, Dravid and Sehwag averaged 38, 37 and 18 respectively. Spinners ran riot in that. It wasn't a great performance by Sangakkara but it wasn't as bad as the stats show.

My vote is for Sehwag who had two triple centuries and a 293, a ridiculous 201 which was one of the greatest innings of all time. He made victories happen from certain draws. Sachin had the longer body of work and some brilliant innings but never hit these heights.

Which makes me think - how do you evaluate someone who was the GOAT in 60% o the matches they played, and a goat in the other 40%. Could argue Sehwag is underrated given how ridiculous he is on home turf.

There’s nothing in Flemings record other than one innings in SL that warrants the case

Flower vas brilliant in India, less so in the rest of Asia and merits a case but would never be credibly close to the best

Same can be said for Cook

He averaged 65 from 18 tests in Asia. Sobers (11 tests) and Hazare (13) are the only players with a proper sample size (1000+ runs) who averaged more.

didnt score a century in 11 tests in India and Pakistan. All the average is Sri Lanka and to be the best in Asia, you have to do well across Asian conditions
