I've never really understood why Waugh's last ball hundred was such a big deal tbh. Even when watching it back, I see the crowd going nuts and all I can do is shrug.. don't get what was that remarkable even being aware of the context of him struggling a bit for form etc.

Warne’s Ball of the Century is possibly the most overrated moment in cricket history.

Warne had already had his breakthrough the previous summer with 8/117 vs the Windies at Melbourne and 17 @ 15 vs New Zealand.

The match wasn’t in a dire situation, Gatting hadn’t even established himself in the match. Maybe if it was Gooch who had just reached his 50. ffs Gatting hadn’t even scored a test century for 6 years.

It was a great ball but calling it the ball of the century was too much and automatically makes it overrated

On the other hand, until Miandad's 6 inspires a better song than this one, Warne's moment stands as greater imo.
