Rohit is much better. Has had much tougher home pitches to contend with, and a very good tour of England vs Jimmy and Co

Only one good or even decent series away. He has widely cashed in home soil; especially as touring pacers hardly perform well here with the new ball. Babar is sufficiently ahead for me.

What has done Babar done tho?
For once, Babar averages 70 odd in Pakistan; and he also has scored plenty of runs in the limited outings he got in England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. His record in South Africa is also very decent, unlike Rohit; and his major problem is in Australia where Rohit hardly is any better (though yeah, this tour of his was really bad).

Babar averages 36 in SA and has barely played 3 matches there. SL can’t be taken seriously. Rohit too averages 65 odd in India in much tougher conditions. And Rohit’s 2021 tour of Eng was much better than Babar’s performances there. Also Babar’s barely played 2 matches in NZ.

Babar's only bad performances are in Australia; Rohit's are in both Australia and South Africa (which is actually horrible).

Maybe, but it isn’t as if SA is a place where Babar has done well. Rohit’s performances at home are more impressive than Babar’s on flat pancakes.

Babar hasn't really done well in SA, but he also hasn't done bad. I would say he is perfectly average there, probably a bit above. Rohit isn't, he has played horribly there, even in the last tour. Overall, I can see your point in Rohit's favour as Pakistani pitches are flatter; but I really can't remember too many innings which Rohit played against genuinely threatening attacks in genuinely good tracks, except Nagpur last year.

Even if not against threatening attacks, Rohit’s record is built on performing on tougher tracks. So he’s better at home by a good margin, and Babar might be better away very marginally

averaging 70 in Pakistan is really not that great tbh
