Woakes with the ball at home. Flintoff with the bat and ball away. Flintoff with the bat at home.

Overall it's an easy win for Flintoff.

Flintoff was an actual all rounder. Woakes is a bowler who bats a bit
Woakes is a genuine all rounder , just that he's a home bully which impacts his stats..

At home Woakes has 1031 runs @ 33.26
and 113 wickets @ 21.88

Flintoff scored 2007 runs @ 35.21 at home
and took 109 wickets @ 36.11 with the ball

It is puzzling why Woakes could not replicate his world class form at home in other countries.

I know the stats. Its just when you watch/watched them play, you can see who is the test number six and who is the very good number 8

Woakes has actually always looked like a better bat to me tbh.

Flintoff was a better bowler than his stats suggested but he always felt like he had nosebleeds at 6 to me.

Horrible against the short ball and pretty jammy in general. Looks like a better batting version of Cummins

Also I take that you did not watch Flintoff from 03 to 05

4 x 50s from 5 innings away to India in 06 as well

After his injuries in the summer of 06, while never the same player overall I felt we did see the best of him with the ball in glimpses but his batting never recovered, which is strange when you think about what the injuries were.

But yeah agree anyway.
