Moving this out of the FC thread so it doesn't bog it down. Anyone interested?

we could also tinker the points scoring and how all that works and maybe if a template is made it can be passed on to other T20 tournaments (IPL etc)

Below is the current CW Fantasy cricket set up. Anything leaping out at anyone? The SR and Econ is perhaps too generous in points right now I guess.

1 point for 1 run always seems like a good basis to start off any system though.

  6. 16 points for a century
  7. -2 points if dismissed for a duck (Only for batsmen, wicket-keepers, and all-rounders)

  2. 8 bonus points for taking the wicket by LBW or Bowled

Other points

The economy rate comes into consideration for Dream11 points only after a bowler has bowled at least two overs.

I'm inclined to always like a fantasy draft that makes you select something that at least resembles a team and I generally dislike the gimmick of having a "captain" or any player that scores bonus points. Makes everything all the more flukey.

Injuries and injury cover is also an interesting one. I think just flat out selecting a squad and having only your 11 highest scoring players games count makes sense. For the NZ tournament I don't see the need to select more than 12-13 players, while for the IPL you'd probably want a squad of 16-18.

One thing I used to enjoy from the old domestic selectors was having a domestic team where you had to pick your first 3 contracted players from, and only after that was done could you draft from the NZC contractees and the other domestic teams. Always got me more invested in the Firebirds games knowing they were the core of my squad.

If there is enough interest that means NZ could have 6-7 teams (7th team might be a volunteer best of the rest sorta deal) or if more than that are keen, we can have separate 2 separate drafts.

Yeah ive been fiddling with scorecards with the CW fantasy cricket system to see how it feels. The milestone and strikerate bonuses for the batting don't feel right.

Battingwise

I'd probably look to clean it up to just

Scoring Rate 150 - 199.925 Points
Scoring Rate 100 - 149.915 Points

Scoring Rate 0.0 - 75.0-10 Points
