    Split these cricketers into tiers

We generally compare individuals here. And in addition to the fact that there are less players impacting the bowling side than the batting side which inherently makes that more valuable. There is also the fact that in particular for your ace bowler you can utilize him in precisely the most...

    Who's Done the Most Damage?

No idea, May was quality, certainly better than Boycott.

    Who's Done the Most Damage?

At least Kane's later career isn't falling off a cliff, which is more than can be said for a number of BBB candidates where everything looked great... until it didn't.

    Split these cricketers into tiers

    Lol, edited.

    Split these cricketers into tiers

Every bowler has a higher value proposition (i.e. potential and ability to win/highly turn a match on their own) than any specialist batsman. That's just how the maths of Test cricket works out.

    Split these cricketers into tiers

The best thing you can do for a team is be an ATG level ace bowler. Pollock was that for enough of his career. Sobers never was.

    Split these cricketers into tiers

    You forgot Sobers

    Split these cricketers into tiers

Roughly, and not ordered within tiers. I think bowers generall have more value, so these comparisons are a bit weird, but this is my personal best go. Imran Hadlee Pollock Sobers Kallis Miller Ashwin Botham Kapil Jadeja Greig Shakib Stokes Cairns Flintoff

What we learned from the 5th Test

These are all reasonable and well thought out points on why we should be reticent on allowing subs. However, it gives an opportunity for an additional ad break, so it WILL happen, whether we like it or not.

    Rank the pace bowling pairs

We should do a statistical comparison of these pairs at their peak. Also wonder how good Garner Marshall or Marshall Ambrose ever were at their peak.

    Garry Sobers vs Ravindra Jadeja

Has Jadeja ever lost a poll?

Are india most unluckiest team when it comes to winning toss?

They've tried. It's taken 15 flips and still no luck for India.

Is Javed Miandad an ATG test batsman?

I stand corrected on Gavaskar then. I leave it as an exercise for the reader to find other batsmen with high home/away lbw disparities.

Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

Is Mushfiqur Rahim the last cricketing holdout of the mid 2000s heyday of CW? I think it might be the case. He really is the LeBron James of cricket. Also, is anyone really believing he is only 38 years old?

Is Javed Miandad an ATG test batsman?

Miandad's record in this respect seems anecdotally special, but I don't think many other players of the home umpires Era would be much different. I think I read of Gavaskar as well as having some similar sort of disparity. I think it was just probably shitty umpiring all around in those days...

Is Javed Miandad an ATG test batsman?

What I'm saying is that there are other Asian (also some SENA) bats who have a home/away disparity that is worse. Jayawardene, Warner, Sehwag, just off the top of my head. Even Root has a meaningful (though not quite as big) Home/Away disparity, in spite of England being generally a lower run...

    50s/60s vs 90s/2000s

90s-2000s would win, and it would be belts to asses. In my opinion, of course.
