    Mundane sightings of high-profile cricketers

I’ve just encountered Brian Bennett, Ben Curran and Brendan Taylor at a restaurant in Bulawayo but I was too scared to approach them.

Tea gave me time to have another $2 Zambezi so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Another example of Zimbabwean friendliness. A guy sat down next to us and said he was a watercolour artist and had painted my partner and I: I expected him to ask for some $$ but he gave this to us for free. The people of Zimbabwe are amazing.

Blessing hit him a couple of times in the shoulder and side. I shouted at them to stop hitting my friend but they didn’t listen.

They have bowled well today and NZ have played some poor shots.

An example of how friendly and kind Zimbabweans are. The lady on the left used the last of her phone credit to call a taxi driver she knew to take us back to the hotel last night because we didn’t have a SIM card. She refused payment: we bought lunch from her stall today - meat pastries $1 for 2.

Even this lizard thinks Nicholls was lucky today.

I think Nicholls has had a creditable career but he shouldn’t be in this side or any NZ side for the last 2 years or so.

Nicholls should have been out 4 times before that.

I didn’t have time to get a Zim simcard yet but I’ve just got back from the ground. We had a great time. It is extremely cheap to get in - $10 for the grandstand - and for food and drink. Two beers and two bottles of water was $5. Everyone is incredibly friendly and kind: the guys running the...

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Well after an amazing trip through Botswana to Victoria Falls and a speedrun through security at Harare airport to make a connection, I am now having a pint at the Bulawayo Club ready for the game tomorrow :) I highly recommend Victoria Falls, it was incredible.

*Official* Australia Tour of West Indies 2025

Yeah this is a minor point in the scheme of things but there was a lot of wishful thinking about him because people - particularly cricket commentators - really wanted to see Shiv's son make it. On the Aus tour the commentators were talking about him like he was going to have a ten year test...

I rate Brandon Mavuta too highly because he was a beast on ICC but I still think he should be in the team.

What are the odds on an Archie Vaughan test debut?

*Official* Australia Tour of West Indies 2025

West Indies is the hardest place to open but he hasn't shown any adaptation to it over the last three games, cannot see how he could play in the Ashes.

There are loads of Greek Australians in Melbourne but I don’t know if Greece has made the same effort to get the diaspora on board. Konstas is one who could play for Greece if he chose to. Hatzoglou is another, he’s local to where I live.

Moor would have captained Zim if he had stayed there. Never put the numbers expected up for Ireland though he was a beast in their FC. Just on Italy as well, their League and Union teams both recruit from the massive diaspora so it's not a surprise cricket got in on the act, there are so many...

    Cocaine, among other things.

Theoretically Brendan Taylor and Naqvi could both play against NZ but I don't know if Taylor has been forgiven. He has said he's willing to play if asked.
