The "Channel 9 Commentary Is Hurting Brain" Thread

Taylor commentates like we are dummies. We aren't idiots Mark, try to treat us with the respect we deserve, or we will turn over to Kerry O'Keefe and Jim Maxwell on the radio.

*Official* First Test at the Gabba

I love Ashes Test cricket. The 'Gabba Test is really awesome. I was at the last Ashes Test at the 'Gabba and was surprised at the comfort and facilities there. A great atmosphere as well. Today had everything. Ponting with his back to the wall. Strauss wanting to take the initiative and...

Shane Bond - Retirement and Tributes

Shane Bond was a terrific player. All the best to him in his retirement. He gave me, and lots of other cricket fans lots of joy with his wonderful fast bowling and pleasant attitude. Not every fast bowler has to have 'attitude'.

    *Official* Australia in New Zealand

Not just Fleming - what about McMillan and Astle? They both retired before they really wanted to. Agree re Guptil. 2 issues in NZ cricket - inconsistent - great for 1 or 2 sessions but not sustaining the pressure. Also, in Oz when one batsman fails, another albeit Ponting, Clarke, North...

HRH Prince Phil of Macksville - WAG

I've been following Phillip Hughes (he prefers to be called Phillip) for the last couple of seasons for NSW. He is one of my faves now. He was fantastic against SA. I look forward to P Hughes getting onto the Honour Board at Lords.

Should Tasmania be a part of New Zealand?

Ok well for a start I have followed the Tassie Tigers for the last couple of years. They are a pretty good well balanced team IMO. Their population base is pretty small but they still have some great cricketers BUT I would like to see them play against NZ rather than join them.

    Bracewell's replacement as NZ coach

Sounds like Moles was 4th choice behind the 2 South African guys and Mott from NSW.Hope he does better with the media etc than Bracewell. Always nice for you and everyone else to know that you weren't first choice or even second choice. Surpirsed Bracewell is departing so quickly.

    Cricket Books

Archie, has anyone done a review yet on Line and Strength - the new Glenn McGrath book. If not I'm happy to do a review. From what I've read so far it is better than some other cricket books I've read lately. PS I know I still owe you a review on the new Daniel Vettori book. It's in the...

    Cricket Books

Archie, I've just ordered the Richard Boock biography of Daniel Vettori. Since I reviewed his other offerring on Stephen Fleming I think I'll review the Daviel Vettori one - if that's OK with everyone. Have to tell you I've got meaner in my old age, so I might not be quite as complementary as...
