2006 Men's Hockey World Cup in Germany

lol...but you were spot on about Spain's traditional weakness and Australia's strength in the short corners....:D

    Overrated/Underrated

Rated about right as captain, underrated as an ODI batsman and overrated as a test batsman. Jason Gillespie

2006 Men's Hockey World Cup in Germany

I'd have the Aussies as favourites but I feel Spain can beat Australia. Luke Doerner and Troy Elder are very good but Spain have excellent penalty corner takers themselves in Santiago Freixia and Xavi Ribas. Spain's midfield is probably better than Austalia's but as you said correctly, Sapin...

    ***Official*** India in West Indies

I'm not so sure about that.....when India A toured the WEst Indies in 2003, several of the players said a few of the pitches assisted the spinners. Bhajji himself did reasonably out there in 2002. I'd be surprised if some of the wickets didn't assist spin this time as well.

Which international cricketer do you most resemble on the field?

So does anyone else here " have defence like Dravid and offspin like Vettori " ? :)

Which teams do you think can realistically win the WC ?

How about the Dutch....they look to have a pretty solid squad and they generally perform well at international meets....

INdia have major issues surrounding their test side: 1) Virender Sehwag has a noticeable weakness against the short ball and you can bet Bennett King would have latched onto that. 2) I'm not convinced about the other opener either Jaffer or Gambhir. 3) THe middle order looks vulnerable -...

    Smith and Ponting choose Flintoff

As an Indian, I would take Flintoff and Mcgrath.

Jono, do you feel Tendulkar should be dropped to make way for Kaif in the Mumbai test ?

I can't believe Harbhajan is batting with ease when the Indian top order struggled....they should be ashamed of themselves. Yes the English bowled very well ....I'm not denying that....BUT still

There are a few question marks around India as well, I think it will be a close series. Oh and I will be surprised if Pietersen isn't fit for Nagpur.

England, I'm sure will crank up the intensity and performance come Monday. I don't think India should read too much into this defeat.

I'm pretty sure Simon Jones will be fit for the test and very likely, Pietersen and Collingwood as well.

Munaf has just picked up 5 wickets for a ten wicket haul for the match and he wasn't picked in the Indian squad despite being a lot more match fit than VRV

It was a 5-50 call.......I think selectors felt Jaffer was in better nick so they opted for him.
