5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Diabolical from England quite frankly. India battled hard and deserved that.
  2. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Got to be done in boundaries somehow. Woakes can't run. So abysmal from England to allow this to happen from 300/3
  3. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

England are going to turn down 20 singles now.
  4. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I thought when he got out, things would escalate but I wasn't expecting England to lose it in their heads quite like they have.
  5. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I agree but England were going absolutely nowhere in that spell.
  6. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

The break may help England here. Completely scrambled from such a comfortable position.
  7. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

England don't look like scoring another run here
  8. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Hate to say this because it was a fantastic innings but I feel that shot from Brook opened the door for this.
  9. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Smith should've been sent in ahead of Bethell there really. That innings did not help at all.
  10. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Take them home Joe. What a player.
  11. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Bethell doesn't look terribly comfy out there
  12. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

That's been on the cards all morning.
  13. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I somehow knew that would happen.
  14. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Dawson would have been the classic 80's era pick. The 30 overs a day, hold an end type. See Miller, Emburey etc. County all-rounder who can do a job at 7-8 etc.
  15. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

This is what p**** me off most about the way we go about batting. 51 overs we batted first dig. They were basically on the field at the start then the end of the day. Scoring at 4-5 an over is all very well but we are killing our bowlers at times by not giving them a rest. Not helped by...
  16. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

England's selection this test looking hideous.
  17. The Brian Hardie Stance

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

More annoying is getting out in 51 overs and giving an already weakened bowling attack little respite.
