*Official* England in Sri Lanka 2021

Because it is the moose cup. I have no idea why it is called the moose cup but that is probably the reason for the antlers

Root maybe by the English but nobody outside of that. I personally think he has fallen way behind Kohli, Smith and Williamson even though he has that much talent. He doesn’t even average 50 which is a true sign of a great player. Anderson and Broad are very much behind a lot of their...

Stokes numbers aren’t great. 37 with the bat and 31 with the ball. If he can get his bowling under 30 and batting over 40 then yes but he is nowhere near Imran Khan or Ian Botham let alone Kallis or Sobers

Labuschagne had a mediocre fc record too but he stepped up. There were reports that he was going to be s batting all rounder but obviously not. I remember Steve Smith was also a bowler at the start and look what happened to him. Ben Stokes isn’t great yet either

I think it is a very valid point - part of it I feel is that we don’t push our players to be better. Jos Buttler is a good example - we way we talk about him you would think he is another AB De Villers yet he averages 35. Joe Burns and Travis Head average more than that. If he averaged that...

Fair enough. That does not explain Smith, Hayden, Steve Waugh, Labuschagne, Ponting etc having averages in excess of 50 whilst having bowlers averaging less than 25. Whilst I can understand that we should have less batsman averaging 50 than Australia due to our wickets it doesn’t explain why we...

There you go - there’s another one. I’m racking my brain to think of any of our test bowlers sans Fred Truman who have averaged in the low 20’s. To make matters worse we have the most bowler friendly wickets in the world

Really? I remember him making us look pedestrian

Ryan Harris and Josh Hazlewood have a much better bowling average than James Anderson. The second bloke I was thinking of Marnus Labuschange who is a perfect example of what I mean. Was like Crawley before he entered test cricket and now averages 60 plus. He’ll average over 50 whilst Zak...

I just want us to become the no 1 side in the world which we won’t do whilst we accept mediocrity

Unfortunately Anderson is not as good as Cummins, Lillee, McGrath and probably even Hazlewood and Ryan Harris if you were to compare us with the Aussies. Seriously when was the last time an English pacer averaged in the low 20’s even when we have better bowling conditions than Australia

Has any spinner of ours got 400 wickets? I must admit I am too young to have seen Derek Underwood who was supposedly pretty good. In any case look at our side - name me one player who has reached the heights they were supposed to. I guess I am just disappointed in some of the progress of our...

As an English supporter, I wonder why our players never reach their potential. Crawley goes back to being crap after that one innings, Lawrence looks ordinary, Curran does not look like becoming a test player (wasn’t there supposed to be potential in his batting) Butler our ‘special...
