    Commentary Thread

Guh, is there any way to get the Sky commentary in Australia?

Road to the 2015 Ashes in England

That's how scouting is done in American sports. It's all about physical projection. You can't teach size and athleticism, while other skills if raw are regarded as more teachable.

8th thread - pick the Aus attack at Cardiff

Starc's ceiling is unreached, except perhaps in ODI's. Johnson has reached his and isn't going to get any better, in fact he will probably start to decline. Starc can do everything Johnson can with more height, bounce and swing, and can still improve. Ceiling not close to being reached.

Australia, time to end the all rounder thing?

What I'd like to see is Australia playing their 4 best bowlers (whom of course will all be quicks), and having Maxwell in the side as the spinner doing the bulk of that work, along with Smith and Clarke. It's preferable to me until Australia can develop a world class spinner. I think they could...

Final - New Zealand v Australia (29th March)

You must be kidding. Finch's technique is bush league stuff. He's can't last with it IMO. Warner has the potential to do much better.

Final - New Zealand v Australia (29th March)

The rubbish form of Australia's openers really gives NZ an advantage IMO. Australia have not really played to the potential their batting lineup promises because our openers are struggling so much. So often have been 1-2 wickets down early. The issue is obviously exacerbated when facing better...

    2nd Semi Final - Australia v India (26th March)

Didn't realise those four had announced their retirement at the end of the tournament. You must have the inside word. I actually hope two of those players do retire. We will probably be better off for it.

1st Semi Final - New Zealand v South Africa (24th March)

Sort of a collapse, they would have gotten much more than 325 from the 50. SA have averaged around 12 an over in the tournament over the last 15 overs.

1st Semi Final - New Zealand v South Africa (24th March)

A bit naive. Up until the rain started their entire innings was based around maximising runs and wickets through 50 overs. Strategically it is a massive difference. If they knew beforehand it would only be 43 it would have changed quite a bit.

    2nd Semi Final - Australia v India (26th March)

Nice spin, doc. NZ had an easy target to reach and almost choked it away. I'm pretty sure Australia also had their worst batting display of the tournament. India can win though. Anything can happen in a World Cup semi.

    3rd Quarter Final - Australia v Pakistan (20th March)

Say again? Who said Australia are unbeatable? We don't have the ATG's scattered through our team, like we did a decade ago. We have simply managed to build back a very good side that can beat any other team on our day. There are definitely some holes to plug in the team once the World Cup is over.

Cheers. Wasn't the plan, but hey, it was fun while it lasted.

Someone confirm if I out trolled the troll.

    3rd Quarter Final - Australia v Pakistan (20th March)

Maxwell is an emerging monster. He's in the early stages of a prolonged beast mode.

    3rd Quarter Final - Australia v Pakistan (20th March)

When was the last time you rolled the hips gramps? Go on, be honest.

    3rd Quarter Final - Australia v Pakistan (20th March)

I think this proves you're an old geezer. No way you'd be so bitter about a bunch of batsmen sliding so easily back and forth across their crease otherwise.

    3rd Quarter Final - Australia v Pakistan (20th March)

You are drunk. It's wanker or old person. No and/or either. Old people just being old. Calling an old person a wanker is just disrespectful.

    3rd Quarter Final - Australia v Pakistan (20th March)

What a fantastic shot Maxy boy! The Maxwell swipe.

    3rd Quarter Final - Australia v Pakistan (20th March)

That's odd. Happy people don't usually spout a bunch of bitter comments. Usually reserved for wankers or old people.

    3rd Quarter Final - Australia v Pakistan (20th March)

Except for the fact that 220 was actually a decent score back then. Scoring has increased ridiculously with the new rules.
