Match Fixing in the Ram Slam Tournament

Sure but if your going to have an under-performing player on your team, why not make it the one that doesn't cause other issues? That aside I'd expect KP to have achieved more in the end of his career with a more accommodating management.

    Rank current test teams

The major problem with this is I can see too many groundsmen going the "safe" route producing draw wickets off this -- obviously with the county scoring system this is less on an issue.

Have batting standards massively declined in recent years?

NZ is averaging roughly the same as the 2000s -- most teams aren't.

Have batting standards massively declined in recent years?

The only teams that are making more runs at the moment (past 5 years vs the 10 prior) are Pakistan and Bangladesh... For mine its more about good bowling, buts its hard to show either way.

Michael Bevan's '96-97 series against WI: Statistically the best AR performance ever?

Botham got 212 @ 53 and 17 @ 18.29 earlier that year in NZ Eta the series were consecutive so it would have been 428 @ 61 and 30 @ 17.3 over 6 tests These are the only (Botham) series that meet the criteria.

**Official** New Zealand in Australia 2015

1st Test: Australia v New Zealand at Brisbane, Nov 8-12, 2001 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo Its a draw. Copying error or something. NZ almost won (10 runs short / 4 wickets) off the back of an aggressive Waugh declaration.

Cricketweb decides the best bowler ever, another contest. Nominations thread

I strongly disagree that we should throw away information for the purpose of "exciting" early round matches. Its a theoretically ranking exercise its never going to be super gripping anyway. Note that single elimination doesn't actually give you real rankings beyond first, however the...

    Playing for pride

The first test was reasonably close to a draw -- day 5 was a washout.

    long term Australian XI

Too many good quicks to go for the low variance option (siddle) for mine... Wouldn't be a terrible choice tho.

    Warner appointed vice-captain

This pretty much Warner is by far the most likely person to actually no be dropped in the next 1-2 years. Other batsman are getting churned or retiring. Nevill is new. Too many very good but not undrop-able quicks for any stability there --MJ is tailing off too. For better or worse Lyon is...

    Australian test selection thread 2015/16

Siddle played Adelaide. I'm not saying that Starc + Haze +1 is poor, just that its a step back from Johnson+Harris + 1 of 2 years ago. This means Australia can somewhat less afford to have a questionable batting lineup in Aus.

    Australian test selection thread 2015/16

Dunno. With Harris gone, Siddle unlikely to be picked and Johnson coming off a questionable tour... Obviously tons of talent but I could very much see a less than successful home summer of bowling.

    Most galling Ashes loss

Most of the pre series talk had Harris in the side to be fair... 10-11 at home. 2015 // 2005 are close too. 10/11 being at their peak of their powers is not an accurate description of both side coming IN to the series. Obviously in hindsight it is but I'd expect this side to be rated higher in...

So Ricky Ponting thinks 8 of this Aussie squad will never play test cricket again

I could see Ahmed not getting more GAMES just because 2nd spinners are like backup wicket keepers in the current team... Especially if he doesn't play in Bangladesh. Ahmed, Haddin, Johnson, Smarsh, Rogers, Siddle, Voges, Watson, Harris, Clarke is what 10 players I don't see having long careers...

Most intelligent bowlers atm and in history

In terms of being underrated, I've got him with a period of 14 tests averaging 50.5 with the bat and 24.2 with the ball. Watson bowled to plans and extracted smart movement even from difficult conditions batting aside isn't that exact what you are looking for here in terms of "smart" bowling...

Most intelligent bowlers atm and in history

Steyn spends too much time bowling 135-143 km/h for this to be a thing. I'm skeptical 120-128 km/h steyn would be effective YMMV. I think Watson (especially at his peak) is worth a mention somewhat surprisingly.

    Haddin or Nevill

That's the way I interpreted it.
