*Official* Quarter Final 3 - New Zealand v South Africa

Completely agree. Oram, completely legendary effort considering how much work he's put into get there and how awesome it is to see him on the park leading the bowling attack and being the go-to guy for Vettori. So stoked for him to prove all the haters wrong. But now bloody hacked off at myself...

    Oram to retire

Can't believe it. Am pretty gutted really, thought he would have tried just being a limited overs specialist for a while. But he has said that he would rather be known for his test record, so I guess if he couldn't keep playing the form of the game that really meant something to him he wouldn't...

Sure he's injured? Or are they protecting him and making sure he focuses on getting his batting sorted?

Yeah would have gone for Tuffey too - but maybe thats just coz I want to see him back playing representative cricket. Definitely thinking Patel will pick up more wickets than Vettori this test match.

Patel is playing. Moronic decision considering weather forecast for the next few days. Seamers would have been more beneficial with the possible swing. Unless Patel is now deemed to count due to his all round abilities?

    Tallest cricketers

Oram is taller than Fulton. Fulton is not 2m, he is about 195cm, the two metre connotations with him came from Peter Sharpe during commentary with "two metre" rhyming better with Peter than 195 centimetre Peter.

I think Vettori's bad decision making cost New Zealand the game in the end. Yes, we did not bat as effectively as we should have however our bowling and fielding got us back in the game, where after the 24th we definitely had the upper hand. Vettori choosing to bowl Patel in the second to last...

I do know that Franklin is a Left Armer, but he doesn't seem to be being utilised for his bowling (possibly because he is still working his way back from injury), but if Thompson is selected, we would be more likely to see him bowl.

I would like Thompson to be given a go instead of Franklin for the game tomorrow afternoon, as it appears Franklin isn't contributing much and Thompson with his Left Arm variation could be a great addition for the team and we wouldn't lose much with the bat either.

Totally concur, McCullum is starting to really really frustrate me. He needs to earn the right to bat at 5 and not think that he is "god's gift" to cricket. At the rate he is going he will never be better than Gilchrist.

So really Fulton is just back up until someone gets injured, thus being first cab off the rank. Not a bad squad, doubt anything better could be selected.

Quick injury update: Oram's alright, in the sense that it isn't a bone injury instead it is a soft tissue injury.
