5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Imo, Jadeja played the best innings this Series as well and it wasn't a big score. Also saved the 4th (yes, with Sundar).

    All-Time World XIs: Discussion Thread

Oh my Lord The worst thing to ever happen to Viv Richards was having Kyear2 and Subshakerz as his biggest defenders

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I wouldn't read too much into this morning tbh. I would definitely read into his first innings dismissal, Cummins and Hazlewood would like the look of a player who tries the angled bat force off the back foot with no footwork.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Can't disagree, from the moment I saw him step across the boundary rope I thought he looked very nervous. There seems to be a plan now to keep the ball outside off stump to him, I suspect the Aussies will have noticed.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Tbh my main impression watching that little innings was that that was someone who was 1000% feeling the pressure and the tension of the situation, those were such nervous, tentative prods

*Official* India tour of England 2025 General Discussion

...cricket, but hopefully won’t have to do much of that again! Overton (2 wickets at 82, 9 runs at 4.5), 2/10, got a bit better in the second innings, unlucky that England shelled a few catches, but a poor show in the first innings in friendly conditions. Perhaps a bit unlucky to be given out...

...can bowl instead of skill. Would love to know what was going through his head as he watched Tongue bowling all those 88mph wides in the first innings. The continued and repeated mistakes of picking absolute rubbish like Crawley and Pope. I’m at the end of my tether with both of them. I’m...

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Of course but I don't really understand how you can't make the point that Brook is in part to blame. As much as he's the reason we got as close as we did. I'm not saying Brook is to blame. Our catching is the biggest reason for the result. Broad was criticising Brook yesterday for the same thing.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Criticise the first innings batting, and a lot of the bowling. But that's a hell of an effort in the chase,

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

it's gonna be annoying when Jamie Smith scores runs during the Ashes, knowing he played one of the stupidest innings of all time only months earlier

Yeah they bloody choked in that first innings

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

...near perfect bowling conditions, it was difficult to score, and the inevitable monster that is the momentum for the bowling side in the 4th innings when they get on a roll reared its ugly head. Yeah Brook's dismissal let them back in, but he was the main reason they got even vaguely close anyway

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

jamie smith's antics this morning really the only disgraceful thing. everything else is just cricket, particularly fourth innings cricket which is just always on the edge of falling to pieces. it's hard stuff

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

thats over. fairly deserved. England batting isnt good enough, not test standard IMHO without Brook. More club standard than anything. Eng 1st innings of 247 against this attack is completely sub par.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

even with England's recent wizardry in fourth innings chases, they still had a classic cricket fourth innings collapse

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

man, this is one of the best ever test innings from a tailender surely? if he wins it?

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

akash has been an absolute shambles in the field this innings. drop worthy stuff.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

India had a review, but, imo the rules around reviews need to be changed to account for tight 4th innings chases. in ice hockey, there's a review system, but every goal gets reviewed in overtime even if the review has been used.

Woeful batting effort by Smith in both innings. Disgraceful in fact
