    Stuart Macgill v. Mitchell Johnson

so its clearly Mitchell then, why would you even ask the question? by the time MacGill got round to bowling more regularly, he was around 34 or so and several years past his best

A great result against the 'Win Toss, win the Test match" theory

Yeah this. Pakistan got NZ out for 270 odd which is WAY below par for test matches and yet they never capitilised because their batting itself was embarrassing. the same can go for England. Btw, to the guy who started this thread, just look at recent test matches in India, the majority of...

    The Cricketers That Shaped Me

Kevin Pietersen – The Cricketers That Shaped Me In the world of entertainment, those that are truly special are said to have “it”. Michael Jackson apparently had “it” and so did Muhammad Ali. What is “it” exactly? I’m still trying to figure it out but what I do know is and I suspect millions of...

    Stuart Macgill v. Mitchell Johnson

wasnt mcgill already in his 30s when he finally took over also whats the context of this battle? If I already had enough pacers in my attack, I'd pick MacGill, if not then Johnson You cant just make a vs thread without any context and/or understanding

    Jason Gillespie vs Darren Gough

He certainly wasn't flawless but he was very good. Managed to get his lengths right on pitches where batsmen could eat you up if you erred. He was basically an old pro who knew exactly what he needed to do. I think he retired a year later.

***Official*** Pakistan in New Zealand 2016/17

One loss in 2 and a half years does not mean they are the team of the mid to late 00s BUT they way their batting has faltered twice now is alarming. Thats not to Aslam, Shafiq and co are bad bats but Sarfraz, as a senior player on tour should have been more responsible throughout the series...

    ***Official*** England in India 2016/17

Seriously pathetic from England yet again and they will rue they day they tried to dig in last test. Cook was already regretting it in the interviews that followed, plus they played negatively at the tailend of the first match, the only one they looked like they could win. I feel Cook's...

    Where will Jimmy finish?

I guess the question to ask now is, of the bowlers Jimmy has surpassed in terms of wickets, is he greater than any of them and if so, how many?

    Wastemen etc

Johnson over Lee is either a joke or people didn't watch Lee bowl

***Official*** Pakistan in New Zealand 2016/17

Excellent performance from NZ, especially in beating a team that has beaten them for almost 30 years, home or away. However, I still feel the NZ bowlers are a step off from being world class unless conditions are suiting them or they are bowling against Asian batters in home series'. Boult is...

    Jason Gillespie vs Darren Gough

If I'm picking an ODI XI, then its Goughy all day long and twice on Sundays. He had one of the best reverse swinging yorkers outside of Pakistan and he was just such a sensation when he got going in the 50 over game. In tests, it's a lot closer, although Gough had a habit of picking up wickets...

    The Cricketers That Shaped Me

There was something really interesting a year or so ago regarding Tendulkar. He basically got lost in Cambridge I think it was and started asking for directions. Someone recognised him and it became a bit of a twitter sensation. One of my friends happened to be in the area and although she...

    Wastemen etc

Johnson had snapshots of being very good but largely a mediocre, unfulfilled career but he was a very good stop gap at a time when Australia were reeling from not having enough pace quality. Nope. I don't think he gets into a team or a squad where there's McGrath, Warne, Lee, Gillespie, and...

    The Cricketers That Shaped Me

Adam Gilchrist I've had a month of being busy with uni and the draft, also refereeing THE bout of our generation (Root v Kohli) but this is my labour of love. Gillu up first and then rounding off with KP in the next couple days. Enjoy! Adam Gilchrist – The Cricketers That Shaped Me I spent a...

    Wastemen etc

From 2005 to now, how many top left arm bowlers have there been? Mitchell Johnson would easily be top 3, don't be silly.
