Countries You Will Be Comfortable Playing Cricket In

South Africa? I wouldn't go to Pakistan right now and Zimbabwe would definitely still be off the cards.

    **Official Bangladesh Domestic Cricket**

Yes, but you have to remember the talent in the DPL were all concentrated towards five or six sides, of which two (Abahani and Mohammedan) were easily better. Some of the teams at the bottom are absolute no-hopers and will contribute very few players to the divisional sides this season.

    **Official Bangladesh Domestic Cricket**

He only played the three games according to Cricket Archive, then Abahani signed Abdur Razzaq, who just destroyed attacks. Obviously now the club season is over, there are no more overseas players. Have a look at the scores on Cricinfo now... several of the sides are just dire. Barisal's...

    **Official Bangladesh Domestic Cricket**

No. There used to be a nice site that synthesised all the Bangla sources, but it doesn't exist anymore. The Daily Star or The New Age are probably the best English-language sources. I tend to get most of the info straight off the scorecards at the moment though, don't have time to traipse...

Should There be a Uniform Speed Gun

As in, they don't show it? Or you can see the speeds given translated into reality? Actually find the speed differences when the spinners bowl most interesting TBH.

Should There be a Uniform Speed Gun

Not necessarily in the manufacturing process, but in conditions at the ground that affect the readings (not the delivery it's actually being bowled at). There was one Test at Lord's in recent years when some of the readings were unthinkably high - Broad was clocking mid-90s IIRC. I'm not...

    *Official* Indian Premier League 2010

I'll name Wright and Napier then, far, far better players. Henderson's reputation is significantly exaggerated by his performance on Finals Day in 2008. Last year, Sky built him up before a couple of games, and IIRC he was duly smashed and was exposed for the lack of any real class with the bat...

Why do people feel the need to respond though (not you, GIMH, others). If someone's posting style/arguments/general attitude is particularly disruptive or of poor taste, just put said poster on ignore. If lots of people choose ignore, there are no more massive multiquote arguments.

Should There be a Uniform Speed Gun

I don't necessarily agree with that bit - the gun at Lord's has seemed markedly 'faster' to me than at other Test grounds here in recent years.

    *Official* Indian Premier League 2010

People are going on and on about Henderson here - if they watched a bit of last summer's Twenty20 over here, they'd soon change their mind. Poor even at county level, just had a spell of rich form for a couple of years against relatively weak county attacks.

    *Official* Indian Premier League 2010

Well, that went more or less as expected then. Players like Henderson, ten Doeschate, van der Wath, Haddin, Swann are not among the world's best Twenty20 players, they were never going to attract a (sensible) bid from a franchise. Manou a bit of an exception there... Shakib also should have...

    *Official* Indian Premier League 2010

Tomorrow will be fairly uneventful I think. Each team can only field 4 overseas players from their 10, so at least a couple will see no or next to no cricket in the IPL. People are going on about Shakib, Tyron Henderson (dire player, would stand no chance at a higher level), Haddin, Bollinger...

    *Official* England in Bangladesh

Surely Rashid must have done something wrong in South Africa, something we haven't heard about. Otherwise there is no explanation whatsoever for him not being on tour. You could accept Tredwell being called into the squad as cover for Swann in South Africa (especially as he was already there?)...

    *Official* England in Bangladesh

I think the sight of Rashid getting smashed in the one-dayers might have something to do with that, although it probably really shouldn't.

    *Official* England in Bangladesh

They obviously see something in Shahzad that most people don't, have no problem if they think he might have a couple of breakthrough years and then become a decent-ish allrounder, especially in one-day cricket. Tredwell in as second spinner presumably because they've lost all confidence in...

    **Official Bangladesh Domestic Cricket**

None of the games really got interesting. The Dhaka-Khulna game had potentially, but Dhaka's top-order held strong. SANS, Khulna: Chittagong beat Barisal by 122 runs Chittagong 200 (59.4) - Faisal Hossain 73; Arafat Salahuddin 3-37, Monir Hossain 3-24 Barisal 239 (83.3) - Asif Ahmed 108 (192)...

Is this Trinidad-Guyana game a day/night match? Any feedback on how it's gone down if it is?

Batsmen that have a good eye but not a good technique

Surely technique involves maximising the runs you can score/rate you score them at. If Sehwag or Gayle employ a 'technique' of minimal foot movement and stand-and-deliver and score more than they could do if they themselves used a textbook 'technique', a good eye can equal a good technique...

    *Official* England in Bangladesh

First bit no, second bit yes. Awesome in the Championship, but batting is just nowhere near international standard. Could smash some Bangladeshis around, but no long-term prospect for playing in the subcontinent, which is what the tour is about really.
