Looks like the delay in Boland's squad is the **** the union is in with CSA over spot fixing in the Boland T10 as well as another issue which Luke Alfred is trying to get to the bottom of for a story.

Finally Boland's squad is out.

Shaun von Berg has retired.

Michael Copeland left for Border & was replaced by Jhedli van Briesies.

Like Jevano Baron & Lehan Botha the season before, Ethan Cunningham & Nathan Jacobs promoted from HP.

A new HP is Juanrico Vorster (Curro Langebaan which interesting) & is local Boland like Nathan Engelbrecht (Hopefield) & Gysbert Wege (Paarl Boys).

These are all Boland's SA U19 players as well as Proteas+ Eng international. The big schools are obviously so dominant in rugby like Paarl Gim, Paarl Boys (Boishaai) & Paul Roos but they have such potential to produce more cricketers. Smaller schools have done well.

Other decent pro's outside current squad and from the past?
I see Marais Erasmus went to DF Malan in Bellville so counts as WP.
James Henderson (Worcester Gim)
No idea where Gerry Strydom & Willem Smit went to school who were in the Boland team at the time of the transfer to Cobras.

It seems Vorster was in Paarl Boys until std 9 at least... He was listed in the 2022 KM Week as from there, and then the 2023 list (don't have that brochure) has him as Langebaan...

Will do NW Dragons/FS Knights after this but then maybe drop a name from the others.
