While Jacques Kallis's career statistics show a remarkable average of over 55 in 72 of his 166 matches against teams including minnows Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

This might be already mentioned, but Merv Hughes is the only bowler in Test cricket history to take a hat-trick in three overs. This happened in 1988 at WACA, Perth:
First wicket: Wicket of Curtly Ambrose on the final ball of an over.
Second wicket: Final wicket (Patrick Patterson) of the West Indies innings with the first ball of his next over. The West Indies first innings got over.
Third wicket: Then in the second innings of West Indies Hughes removed the opener Gordon Greenidge with the first ball.

Mohammad Ashrafal,at the age of 17 years and 61days,is the youngest player to score a Test century---not particularly absurd but a little bit awesome.
Mohammad Ashrafal scored this century,114,on debut facing Murali and in an innings defeat---perhaps a little more awesome.
However,no fewer than fifteen players who subsequently made Test centuries on debut were born BEFORE the Bangladeshi prodigy,including Stephen Cook who made his debut Test century 14,yes 14,years later!---Now that IS absurd.

No wonder Tom Richardson was rated so highly. There’s nothing more exciting and satisfying in cricket (imo) than a bowler smashing the stumps. Richardson in his pomp was considered the quintessential fast bowler of the 19th century and his stats back it up.

I entirely echo your comments.Just consider Tom Richardson's bowling record in the seasons 1894-1897 (inclusive) including the tour to Australia 1894/95----strike rate,average,workrate----amazing and an absolutely absurdly awesome statistic.
No wonder that Neville Cardus chose Richardson as one of the six great cricketers to celebrate 100 editions of Wisden in 1963.
And the other five cricketers chosen?----WG,SF Barnes,Trumper,Hobbs and Bradman----rather good company.
