Wouldn't mind an over or two from Washington before the lunch break. Can get Brook into playing a false shot or create that incoming line to Root where a little drift in the line can make Root play across a bit for a potential lbw.

Whatever it takes!!!
When it's clear like a broken bone or dislocated shoulder it should be allowed. All other sports have moved on in that respect so cricket should. Just make it a like for like replacement so you can't bring an extra bat in on a difficult pitch or a spinner when you haven't got one.etc...
As I said, the updated concussion and covid sub protocols handle this pretty well. I see no reason why it cant be extended to injury subs.

A crucial phase of the game will come soon when India has to use a spinner. How much turn is there and can the spinner actually put some pressure instead of just leaking runs from one end. India doesn't have a quality spinner in these conditions but both Sundar and Jadeja have the ability to take the odd wicket and if they can do that here it will be huge.

I don’t doubt they are capable of it, nor do I disagree it’d give us an excellent chance of victory. I’m hoping they can get us 200-3 and it’ll look much healthier. Maybe I need to be more ambitious!
Well in these sort of chases I think you've always got to look 10% at a time.

So far India have gained 25% of what they needed and we've gained 22%. But ours is a harder task than theirs so they are ahead.

A century stand is the minimum we need from these to give us the best chance of putting it towards our favour.

In general, Gill waits too long to bring his spinners on. The kind of skidders Sundar and Jadeja are, they're worth a go even with the newish ball.
