Archer averages 31 and is 30. I doubt he's going to suddenly transform England's bowling. He hasn't swung the ball in about 6 years. That's even if he can stay on the park.

Carse has arguably had a much better start to Test cricket than Prime Archer ever did ,

31 wickets in 6 tests and he's bowled on some pretty flat decks in his career so far.

Carse is better than Archer (although if Archer hadn't been broken by Watling & Santner he could've had a good career). That is the 3rd seamer sorted. I could see Carse being a run in hard, short of a length right arm version of Neil Wagner. If Stokes is injury free, he is a decent 4th seamer. The issues are the new ball and Bashir.

Tongue did a good job wrapping up the tail but is also a 3rd seamer.

Cummins, to be fair, is bowling very well and the ball is doing something now. Webster is getting some late movement as well. Not the easiest conditions to go onto the attack. If these two can get to Lyon, then that's a different story. He would need to go.
