Markram has played some memorable knocks in his test career. Had he been more consistent, he could've gone on to become a test great. Hopefully his best years are still ahead.
What a knock from Bavuma tho. Both him and Bavuma would go on to become South African cricketing heroes if they go on to win this.
And when you think just over 18 months ago, many of their star players were playing SA20 over test cricket. SA must be loving this underdog status but hope they don't choke it from here.

Else then trying marnus or head don't think there is anything he hasn't tried.

We've seen this a few times before under Cummin's captaincy. Difficulty bowling sides out in the 4th innings. Aus have been disciplined and tried a few plans, but nothing has worked. Not sure why this keeps happening to them. Maybe their plans are too balanced and not aggressive enough? Maybe they don't persist with them long enough.

Whatever the situation was, whether it was the board or players that made the choice, everyone thought test cricket died and that it set a bad precedent when that happened. But here we are 1.5 years later, SA with a real chance of winning their first ever ICC world title

Yeah this is why I asked. Probably the only black mark on his captaincy record is he's got quite a few fourth innings losses where it just feels like Australia drifted

From an Oz pov, the very few overs Webster has bowled this test has placed strain on the other 3 seamers. If Cam Green was fit, the other bowlers may have been a lot fresher (and if they weren't carrying the batters in the second innings). I've always thought Mitch Marsh was neither a test batter nor a test bowler, but he may have at least been able to hold an end.
