T20 Blast 2025

Wins for Lancs and Sussex last night

Six matches on tonight, two tomorrow and six on Sunday. Yet Sky have barely made much noise about the competition, same as last year.

Looks like Somerset vs Surrey tonight on Sky Sports+ so I believe hidden away and not one of the main channels.

Tomorrow they have the double header of Warks vs Durham in respective Mens and Womens teams at least on Sky Sports Cricket.

Hopefully fans continue to back the premier white ball competition in the country.

I've seen Lords want £38 for tickets for the Blast while charge £22 for the Hundred. Almost purposely trying to force people away :whistling

I watched the Middlesex/Sussex game on the youtube channel last night. Looked like a decent ish attendance although they weren't using the Compton or Edrich.

But it's a valid point about Sky not really pushing it too hard, maybe we'll see a bit more now it's actually starting. But you just knock the 100 would be totally different.

Can't find this on TV anywhere in NZ this year, unfortunately. I'm much more interested in this comp than the Hundred.

In this comp there are people around the country who actually care who wins. No one does in The Hundred, it's just a cheap means to an end.
As someone who has lived outside the traditional boundaries of the 18 FC counties all my life, I don’t really follow any one county in particular, but I’m a damn sight more invested in a county game than a Hundred game

I went to a Second XI T20 game for the first time today. It is a much better experience without the music, announcements and general brouhaha.

Agreed. Used to enjoy a day out for their final at Arundell. National Counties also playing T20 at the moment, most Sundays starting 8th June) doubt that has much music and ott announcements.

I see the ECB do value the Blast afterall. They seem to now be now giving each win 4 points rather than 2 (2 for a tie/no result). I'd missed that change. Double the value.

Most, if not all of the games are shown live on youtube. I don't know whether that extends to NZ as well, but there seems no reason why it shouldn't.

I watched the first 18 overs of Somerset/Surrey last night, before other commitments kicked in. The Somerset bowling attack is really good and, without Jason Roy rolling back the years to produce his best innings in ages, Surrey wouldn't have made three figures. Or even close to three figures actually.

Yes this @_Ed_ just might need to run a VPN to watch. But plenty of free ones out there.

Supersport in SA has been showing the Blast for a few years now. Odd that the first one shown live this season's is only midweek.

EDIT

I lie, first game is on today.

Considering being 5/3 after 3 overs it's a pretty decent semi-recovery for the Birmingham Bears.

Durham did this a few times last season.

QF Surrey was a great example but wasn't anywhere near enough in the end.

Durham will probs screw this start up somehow though, but you'd always take a side having a RR under 7 at this stage. Especially when 4 down.

I see its 4pts for a win in the T20 blast this season as opposed to 2 in past seasons - is there any reason for that? I can't see anything about bonus pts which was my initial thought when I first noticed the 4pts per win.

Really like the mix of this Sussex team this year. Coles is maturing into such a quality player whilst Robinson is leading the attack superbly. The two Aussies are just solid pro’s who won’t let you down. Knockout stages the bare minimum target…

Jimmy was magnificent tonight mind

His best ever figures 11 years after his last match. Was so close I could touch him at two points as well 😂

A misfield off the last ball stopped Durham getting the draw! Bad captaincy from Lees on bowling choices in the 2nd and 15th over were frustrating.

little incidents like those happen all the time. Neesham's catch to dismiss Bohannon worth a mention. Anderson's first time taking three wicksts in a T20 for Lancashire. Probably up there with Darren Stevens for best figures from the over 40s brigade.
