English Domestic Season 2025

Think Benkenstein is the cheap shot, maybe the fall guy. But problems pre date his arrival and must seriously be asked of those who appointed him following his record at Gloucestershire.

The problem is illustrated by the answer to this question:

What do Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Sussex have in common, currently?

How bad is that pitch at Birmingham? The last Surrey pair have now lasted 47 overs....

Meanwhile, is Jake Libby going to pull off a heist at Hove?

You timed that well. I reckon D'Oliveira was dismissed within seconds of your post.

As for Edgbaston, yes the pitch looks a shocker. Credit to Foakes though, the game was a long way from safe when we were 217 for 5, and subsequently 346 for 9.

Not as bad as Essex's against Yorkshire at home. Losing Cox at the same time as Cook being rested isn't ideal. I'm also not sure why Paul Walter, probably our form batsman, isn't playing. But still, to be at risk of losing by 400 runs at home is abject.
Now looking good for the draw as they haven't lost a single wicket all day.

Seems to happen a lot in the CC at Edgbaston. Groundsman blamed the Kookaburra for the disgraceful pitch he produced against Durham start of last season.

Think he needs to go back to drawing board on how to prepare a wicket that isn't a bore draw.

It doesn't make much sense him preparing such a road when Surrey are at least two main bowlers down on what would be their first choice XI.

No complaints about the pitch at Hove (apart from there seemingly being little in it for spinners) as all results possible heading into the last session....

My wicket generation has been excellent today, Robinson polishes off the tail. He was in his 30th over when he got the job done, and they say he's not fit!!

Worcs are seemingly guaranteed for relegation already, who joins them will be interesting.....

I hope Stokes, McCullum, Wright and Key haven't given up on him and speak to Farby as he's easily one of the best seamers if he wants it.
