    Medium pacers in international cricket

Terry Alderman? Really can't have bowled much higher than mid 70s most of the time.

Top 10 Greatest Test Crickters Of All Time

The Gavaskar/Chauhan partnership must surely win the award for "Worst partner in a ATG batting openers' duo". The latter never even scored one century for goodness sake.

    How good was Imran Khan?

Hadlee's not too far away in that respect. I don't think he's on the same level in terms of talent as Khan, but consider New Zealand's record prior to him coming onto the scene and then their win record after he hung up his boots. Sobers, in purely allrounder terms, is slightly overrated to me...

    How good was Imran Khan?

One argument is that Khan played quite a few more tests than Miller, and there's no evidence that Miller would have been able to sustain his excellent stats for as long as Khan did.

    Rashid better than Warne: official

Given that wrist spinners tend to (or at least should) be used in a more attacking manner than finger spinners, a higher economy rate perhaps shouldn't be used too liberally as a stick with which to beat him; having a rank amateur and a batsman that bowls as your spin partners probably doesn't...

Players who had a fitting end to their career

Curtly Ambrose Took 4 wickets in his final test at an economy rate of about 1.43; epitomised his final year of cricket in 2000 where he averaged less than 18 in taking 36 wickets, and at an economy rate of 1.68.

    Wastemen etc

Had the greatest bowling performance by any bowler in any test series since Laker, so gets into the top 20 on that alone, but too much mediocrity (averaging nearly 57 in 2011; Darren Powell-esque stats) for him to get into the top 10 for me.

    *Official* Emerging Nations Cricket Thread

Mommsen has quit international cricket for Scotland and becried their lack of fixtures: Lack of play stunting Scotland, says Preston Mommsen - BBC Sport Any way the associates can increase the number of fixtures they play without going through the ICC? Even by playing more friendlies?

    Old Fast Bowlers: Useless?

The stats of the pre WW1 bowlers can probably be discounted to a large extent on account of the fact that the technique of batsman was nowhere near what it was post Trumper and Hobbs; a lot of cricketers back then wouldn't really have played strokes or relied on technique as we would understand...

**Official** Sri Lanka in England and Ireland 2016

Wasn't Woakes always considered better in four-day cricket (and consequently with the potential to be better in tests) than in one day and 20/20 formats? Don't remember any outstanding, or even excellent performances by him for England in the shorter formats.

Name a country, then name the best ever batting tail they produced

Think they had that, plus Richardson at number 11, who averaged just shy of 25, for a couple of tests in '98.

    *Official* 3rd Test at Edgbaston

This is gonna end up going the way of the 3rd test between Eng and Pak a few years back, roll the oppo out for very little first dig, and still manage to collapse to defeat.
