    217 points was enough to get promoted from division 2 last year, so Leic well on the way. (Sussex 237, York 217) Not sure how many signings they would need to stay up if they do make it though.

    I'm sure the spectators who turned up to watch them were charged at the turnstiles as 1st class matches at least. They were played fiercely and no quarter given. Lets put it this way, more 1st class than Derbyshire v Leeds/Bradford UCCE before it lost it's FC status.

    I personally think you should only have ONE loan player playing a match at anytime for a side, pick some 2nd XL players if you need others. It's becoming a joke.

    Caleb Jewell, for Derbyshire, 61, 51no, 83, 73, 16, 71. Just needs a century when he's in this form, but a great start by him. Also good to see Luke Procter finally convert the many 50's he gets into a century this time. Career best 150, only his 9th 1st class ton. Great county pro though.

    Not sure what your criteria is , but a very underrated all-round series by Ritchie Benaud in South Africa in 1957/58 has gone unnoticed I feel. 329 Runs @54.83 with 2 centuries.     Those 8 pts that Worcestershire got for the draw may prove so vital later in the season should they become involved in a relegation dogfight. Fantastic effort, will feel like a win. Somerset on the other hand will feel this was a loss.
