    The lower order and Clark did well to get us close to level but I'm disappointed with the lack of intent shown by the top order. Yes it was a difficult pitch but too many of them went ultra defensive and just tried to survive, instead of trying to play a few shots to put pressure into the bowlers.

    Agreed, we probably need a first innings lead as I can't see the pitch getting any easier especially with the uneven bounce. If we end up 30+ behind we will really be up against it.

    Based on the pitch I would say with us only having one recognised batsmen left and still 107 behind, Worcestershire are 'just' ahead in the game. I wouldn't fancy chasing anything over 150 on this pitch in the 4th innings.

    In hindsight Robinson should have tried to be ultra aggressive in his innings, he looked like a walking wicket every delivery. A quick 20 by him would have been useful.

    Questions have to be asked about why we have so many injuries, especially to bowlers. It even got to the stage in the Yorkshire game last week were we had a Gidman, a coach on as a sub fielder.

    Story of our season, we seem to lack a killer instinct when we get ourselves into a decent position. On what's a good batting pitch to only have 3 players score over 20 is poor.

    This has the hallmarks of a long season. Question marks for North's winter recruitment, we look totally imbalanced and a lot weaker this year. That money could have been better spent elsewhere judging by these two games.
