    Watching the ball bowled

Thanks for the replies, guys. I do make sure to keep my head up but it's just been frustrating that I can't make out the trajectory. I'm glad I'm not alone. And you would have thought it would be easy to just aim a bit to the left but it keeps going down the leg side. I've got nets tonight so...

    Watching the ball bowled

Does anyone else have issues seeing the trajectory of the ball they just bowled? I've only been playing for a couple of years (although I'm 28) and I've just started to realise/ be told that I'm getting a lot of in-swing (which I'm not going to complain about). The problem is I can't see it so I...

hi guys, one to one tuition question,...

Hi Kev. I was in the exact same boat as you. All I can say is it's gonna take time. When I started out I couldn't bowl and I would miss every ball with the bat - that was a couple of years ago. I'm now 28 and play cricket in Scotland. I opened the batting this weekend and came to bowl after the...

    Lokomotiv's Proposed Changes to Cricket

I would be very surprised if it was true, to be honest.

    Bowler hiding the ball

I've not seen putting it in the pocket, but covering the ball is something a lot of bowlers do - especially if there's reverse swing.

    Lokomotiv's Proposed Changes to Cricket

I agree - it wouldn't be good for the game. Wickets are exciting - much more so than maidens. You might find batsmen going for more risky runs on the basis that they either hit out or get out, but that's likely to end in run-outs which IMO are the most terrible of wickets. My biggest fear would...

I agree, but I don't like penalty shoot-outs in football either. Personally I favour the dance-off.

    damaged bat

Try the coaching and equipment section of the forum. How big is the dent? Does it need to be fixed?

    Expeditious Draft- real quick

I feel sorry for the Don. He's always excluded from joining in with the other boys. I can just imagine him resigned to the nets facing a bola machine, silently weeping as he watches everyone else out on the field having a brilliant time.

Helicopter shot by batsman other than dhoni

I need to see this in super super slo mo. I watched the video in entirety and still can't work out what the batsman is doing.

    Your Cricket Season

No runs again, but at least I faced a few more balls this time. And a wicket! 10 runs off 4 overs - very annoyingly 5 of the runs were wides. Definitely something to work on.

    Your Cricket Season

The golden goose was taken from wiki with no references so not sure how true it is. Opened, we batted first, first ball of the season. I couldn't help but laugh as it happened - hugely looking forward to knocking a few about and I did something monumentally silly.

    Your Cricket Season

Second match of the season this weekend - hopefully I'll score some runs this time. Has anyone here heard of a "golden goose"?
