I'll take Asif before him. I think ppl underrate just how exceptional those series were in SL, Nz etcI think Tate should make it before Asif.

I rate Asif similar to Philander and Tate a bit lower than both. Larwood at a slightly higher levelTate is just Philander who can bat better no
Yeah agree on thatanyway, I think Bedser should and will beat out Asif or Tate or Vern for third pacer here
Also, is Tate better with the bat?Tate is just Philander who can bat better no
by a littleAlso, is Tate better with the bat?
In every other way he's philanderesque. In the most important one, they're widely differentI just rate Tate for the classic line
"Maurice Tate, with seemingly no help from the pitch...."
Voting for Shami over Asif is like voting for Anderson over SteynI ain't voting for Asif before Shami.
Steyn was a fixer??Voting for Shami over Asif is like voting for Anderson over Steyn
Akhtar did chuck sometimes, and many others who've been voted in did ball tampering... If that's no issue, why is this such a big oneSteyn was a fixer??
You Chuck trying to win, you fix trying to loose. I can overlook chucking a few or tampering a bit without much hassle. But if you don't want to win, I don't consider you much of a sportspersonAkhtar did chuck sometimes, and many others who've been voted in did ball tampering... Yeah I can't agree to the first part. I'll either overlook both or neitherYou Chuck trying to win, you fix trying to loose. I can overlook chucking a few or tampering a bit without much hassle. But if you don't want to win, I don't consider you much of a sportsperson
I don't agree with that, at all. Cheating to win and cheating to lose aren't close morally for meYeah I can't agree to the first part. I'll either overlook both or neither
Yeah, for me cheating is cheating. If you are cheating to win it doesn't count either.I don't agree with that, at all. Cheating to win and cheating to lose aren't close morally for me
I just can't rate them the same morally. Atleast in one case you are trying to win. Scummy yes, but still it's for your team. Like when Suarez kept the goal vs Ghana. In the other you want your team to loose for personal gain. That's something enough to disqualify someone as a sportsperson.Yeah, for me cheating is cheating. Suarez vs Ghana wasn't cheating though. That's totally separate. He didn't violate any rules. Smith using sandpaper or others deliberately ball tampering is different.I just can't rate them the same morally. Atleast in one case you are trying to win. Scummy yes, but still it's for your team.
