Akhtar did chuck sometimes, and many others who've been voted in did ball tampering... If that's no issue, why is this such a big one
You Chuck trying to win, you fix trying to loose. I can overlook chucking a few or tampering a bit without much hassle. But if you don't want to win, I don't consider you much of a sportsperson

Yeah, for me cheating is cheating. If you are cheating to win it doesn't count either.
I just can't rate them the same morally. Atleast in one case you are trying to win. Scummy yes, but still it's for your team. Like when Suarez kept the goal vs Ghana. In the other you want your team to loose for personal gain. That's something enough to disqualify someone as a sportsperson.

Suarez vs Ghana wasn't cheating though. That's totally separate. He didn't violate any rules. Smith using sandpaper or others deliberately ball tampering is different.
