You'd look at 204-6 and think it was Even Stevens. Take Gus out of the mix and England have been complete garbage. Hope they lose.

The elephant in the room: we played until 7:30 today due to lost overs, is there any reason on God’s green earth that we couldn’t extend the day all the other days when the full day’s allocation weren’t bowled?
Yep magic how that works isn't it. Apparently the broadcasters are in part to blame.

Whatever it takes!!!
Interesting day. Looking at conditions and the fact that we were put in, 200 odd for 6 is not as bad as it may seem given the rest of the piitches this series, but the unforced errors again with Rahul, Gill and maybe Jurel to an extent is very annoying. We could have well ended the day some 220/3 which would have made it India's day.

As of right now, England 80-20 ahead if the pitch and esp. the conditions flatten out as expected. We have 3 #11s after this as well, so not much hope of getting a big score either. 250 seems about a 100 short of par.

I think we've already seen signs of the pitch flattening out, and to be honest, it didn't do all that much whilst it was fresh and green. I might be wrong (have been known), but against this Indian attack, got a feeling England will score 500.

I reckon par on this track is between 260 and 280, so still a little bit of a chance for England to get out of this first innings still in a good position. That last hour really didn't help though, they were ****ing dreadful.

Sure, but as long as the light is ok, why shouldn’t the day just carry on until the full number of overs are bowled?
Yes, for England and tbe long summer evening twighlights.

Doesn't work everywhere though (if you are wanting uniformity). Eg there is a test happening at same time in mid-winter Bulawyo.

India need to score very quickly and get out! Get bowling before the conditions completely flatten out.

Extra 30-40-50 runs won't matter, if conditions become much easier to bat.
