Weekes by a tiny bit imo, very close, he averages 10 points higher and like 15 higher without the sinusitis tour. Though Harvey faced much more difficult conditions so that makes it very close.

Well they both have good cases to be ATGs... But if you have to make threads asking whether they're ATGs or not, then the bonafide part becomes debatable

That tells more about the audience here rather than them tbh. Both were rated as ATG when they were playing and until very recently when statsguru became household. Victim of crazy revisionism.

I don't think so. I think it's more of a personal thing, as they're overall ranking, as to how they're perceived relative to others isn't much different on CW. It's more a case of how high a bar you want to set for ATG, which is more of a personal thing.

Don is the only ATG there's ever been. Others are just side chicks.

Harvey was picked over Border in the Australian team of the 20th century and Sobers put Headley, Weekes and Viv on the same level when he was asked about the best West Indian batsmen. I don't think there's been any new information to overturn that. Harvey suffers from his average dipping below the arbitrary 50 threshold despite the fact that he played in the toughest era.

One question... Do you have kohli as an ATG?

Compton is a great example of this as well. He was possibly rated at a similar level to Gavaskar (if not higher) pre statsguru but is now rated below Miandad because of statsguru.

Compton lowball is people not doing their own research, it's the Kimba controversy of Cricket.
