Check the comments, majority seem delighted/appreciative of the fact that he didn't break the record. Even ex English cricketers are of the same view.

Meanwhile the reactions on CW are completely the opposite... Maybe only an English thing?

Heh just seen something very interesting.

When Sobers made his 365*, he was averaging 34 with a top score of 80.

He obviously had an opportunity to go past the top score at the time - Len Hutton’s 364 - he took it and became a legend himself.

I mean he didn't deserve any applause for not walking for smashing the leather off one.

I get somewhat ironic when my avatar never walked either, but I didn't agree with that too.
There is enough moral high ground going around in cricket at the moment so good on the kid for saying Ump, stick me or I'm staying 😂

Well the comments seem to feature sanctimony and ignorance in great measure.

Most of them comments must be from the South of England.

I post on another forum for Sunderland fans that has a very active cricket sub forum and only one person thought it was good idea.

But what does that mean/imply?

Yeah forum folks at other places seem to generally agree that it was a bad move.

Mulder scored the most runs in the series, 531 runs in 3 innings at 265.50
Mulder took the 4th most wickets with 7 scalps @15.28
Took the most catches (5) in the match.
And the winning Test Captain

Talk about an All Round Performance lol.

Seems like Alistair Cook & Michael Vaughan agreed they would have done the same on Stick to Cricket as well.

Bar that first innings at Lord's that really worried me that despite his up-turn I thought he might not have the aptitude for higher level opponents his last 18 months has been there for all to see. He bowled decently and then got rid of the nerves to show more of his natural self in the 2nd innings at Lord's.

That partnership in the West Indies with Verreynne to give us momentum in a 50/50 match was one that stands out to me that is slightly under the radar.

Best thing is the next WTC cycle will reveal a lot about his quality in tough conditions but atleast now he has a monster series behind him.

That West Indies series was a big series for him , he averaged 37 with the bat and 18 with the all , looking at Australia's batting struggles in the Caribbean against the same bowlers more or less , that batting performance carries a lot more weight now

Now he will have replicate that in asia to show he is all condition player
