That first over from Matigimu was solid first change seamer stuff. You don't win bowler of the year at Tuks without having a little something about you.

Ed Rainsford and Darlington saying they surprised it wasn't Newman selected.

Lesego has done well. Played the ball late and under his eyes. Sucked them into bowling straighter. Proper opener stuff. Just whether he has enough talent to kick on consistently & make international bowlers feel under pressure when it's needed.

Natal had a history of playing their future openers as tail enders: https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...zulu-natal-vs-england-xi-78785/full-scorecard (see Pietersen at 9 and Bodi at 10)
And apologies, he debuted at 9:https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...vs-kwazulu-natal-pool-a-415607/full-scorecard
Just thinking back to your post yesterday @GRAB Bloody well remembered. 😂

Ross Veenstra and Gary Gilder both played SA A and the domestic fans will remember them . I see Veenstra's son Cameron signed for Sharks Rugby end of last year.

Yeah that wasn't a very good shot from Senokwane there ..played all around a straight delivery, one negative about this series is that the openers haven't scored any runs

Just my opinion but 2 seasons of big runs after being a walking wicket before that isn't enough to get a test cap especially over Jordan Hermann who has put 4 consistent and high level seasons from the get-go together.

You guys should have higher standards than that , 3 off 30 against Zim seamers isn't good enough , I mean wasn't there Hermann who averages like close to 50 ?

He must be sick to his stomach seeing how the openers played in this series

Seems perfect against a 3 seamer line-up. Goal 1 is always see off the new ball and take it from there...
There is seeing of the new ball and then there is crawling into your shell completely.
Not asking for bazz ball but also not wanting us to just let the bowlers bowl at us.

Even if you average 50, you still have failures. If a batsmen makes 125,75,0,0 in 4 innings that is an average of 50...

Didn't really take his chance on the A tour of the West Indies.

Been bowling way too short on a pitch that has excessive bounce on a good length now and again & possibly slower than the first test.

Of course , but if you have that record which is better than every opener in picked for the national side , and the main two openers are rested for a series , you would feel obliged to be upset at missing out if you've been consistent at domestic level , Hermann is 23 though so plenty of time for him.

As soon as I started watching everything went to **** for Zimbabwe, quelle surprise. But Matigimu looks promising.
