2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Cricketer Of The Year
India only lost 6 overs while going from a lead of 550 runs to 607 runs. If India had declared at 550, India would have had 112 overs in total, including upto 22 overs tonight.

Now India only has to bowl 15 overs tonight and large majority from Siraj and Akash. Then tomorrow morning, India can attack again with Siraj and Akash. Ball will still be new as well.

Tomorrow after 80 overs, India will still get at least 25 overs with a second new ball as well.

Setting England an impossible target meant India can attack endlessly and force these bashers to play defensively which most of them may struggle to do.

Nah I think he’ll average above 50. Would be good to see England finally produce a 50 averaging bat after 60 years tbh lol.
Depends really..

If he's aiming to breaking Sachin's record he'll have to play until at least 37 ish going on 38 and in that time whilst England do play alot of tests he might bag the record but his average might decline from playing on so long.

Whatever it takes!!!
You may think that but if team management feels the best chance is to set them 550 in 7 hours, I wont mind it so much at all. Egg them on to get just below 5 an over for more than a 100 overs, have two cracks with the first new ball at them, and also make the second new ball a factor. I think it makes good sense. I know its the norm to hate on this new management and esp. GG (and trust me, I hate him for many reasons) but if this is the line of thinking I think its a pretty good one given the type of pitch and these boundaries and our "attack".
This was good strategy, methinks.

So England basically have to score run a ball tomorrow to win the game. It will be interesting to see if they have it in them to play for a draw.
