Congrats in advance to England who thoroughly deserve to win this match A really dominant performance by them on the last day. Lots of changes needed by India to have any hope of fighting back. The only good thing about this defeat is that it can force some extra introspection. More work is needed on the fielding, especially with catching. Bowlers apart from Bumrah need to hold their lines and lengths. The lower order needs a capability to score at minimum 10-20 runs or so when the team needs it, particularly in order to stave off extreme collapses after the 5th wicket.

As Indian cricket fans (though I'm a fan of both teams to be honest), we need to look beyond individual performances and focusing on the team. Too many look at the sentiments rather than the end outcome. I saw a quote after India lost to Australia in the CWC 2023 in Ahmedabad. "In India, when you come home from a match, you're asked how many runs did you score or wickets did you get. In Australia, you're asked 'Did your team win?' ". Truer words could not be said.

Root's brings up his half century and the commentator references the legendary Rolling Stones song "Root's 66th".

I'd also bet that if South Africa were defending 50 remaining with 9 down against New Zealand, they'd have let Chris Martin get his first ever test half ton to win it.
Chris Martin.
If he is not the most #11 of all elevens, he must be #12. And yet, I do remember him hitting a ball down the ground very neatly.
