The fact Khawaja made 0 off 20 and Buvuma currently 0* off 30 shows how difficult this pitch is

"Really quick learner as well is Stubbs" says KP, as he loses his off bail to Hazlewood Guess he learned Hazlewood is World Class.

Edit, Hazlewood, not Cummins. Long day.

I know he is batting 3, but there has to be a massive concern that his batting against quality looks so far off being able to deal with high quality bowling.

It's not like he has had 12-15 innings at test level now.

If he is batting 7 he may still have to deal with a new ball. It's just judging what you see, and he doesn't look the level we as SA hope we can get and have been used to.
Honestly, de Swardt might have a lower ceiling but maybe he is worth a go at 7.
Edit: We can discuss this in the selection thread.

tbf, this isn't an uncommon kind of score against this Aus attack when they're all fit and the conditions suit. Wait to see if SA can string together some partnerships tomorrow.

Annoying af that Smith looked that good on this deck against Rabada and got out to Markham

This is like comparing the acting talents of Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot
bro they have 4 batsman averaging over 40 in the top 6. They batted like **** but its a good line up and probably better than any other line up currently going although that doesn't say much given the global batting is pretty dire now

The 4 are either on the downhill side of their careers, or have their averages helped by playing a lot on familiar home conditions. They may be better than SA's greenhorns but, this is not a 2006 Australia by any stretch.

I'd say the Australian batting has very high ceiling but the form of people like Marnus and Khawaja must be troublesome. Khawaja might be a little too old but I don't get Marnus at all.
