Appears to have been some heavy rain last night but it feels hot and humid now so hopefully no delays.

Will be an interesting first session. I'm guessing interest will dip between 3 and 5pm today.

What a start!! 5 wickets in the first hour, lead still 146. Mitch Killeen on fire with his old man on comms! They’ll have to make that a more permanent arrangement!

Looks like the overnight rain and the morning humidity has done wonders for the bowling conditions. Hopefully bowl them out before lunch and get the heavy roller on it for an afternoon of serene batting.

The only game I didn’t see anything of was the one at Derby (hosts closed on 352-2), which seems to be the anomaly, but in the first division, every team that batted first was dismissed today.
I watched a few minutes of it yesterday as I always like to hear what Fletch has to say. The first hour had just ended and he said it looked like a big scoring wicket.

Devastated at this. Absolutely thrown it away. A lead of 105 man. Shocking. Hogg isn’t ready for county cricket either, far too wayward, far too expensive. Somerset under no pressure at all.

Umpires take the players off with the floodlights on meaning five overs are lost, but bailing out Somerset in testing conditions. Contrast to what our lads had to endure in near darkness down at Taunton last year.

I thought we'd struggle with our bowling this game but our batting has been absolutely shocking. Lees, McKinney, Gay, Ackermann and Robinson have blown hot and cold...no make that freezing all season and I haven't even mentioned Rhodes.

It’s maybe harsh to criticise Robinson, who actually scored runs in this game, but his two dismissals were absolutely vile given the circumstances.

Woke up to sun and blue sky, perfect batting conditions, reckon Somerset win by 5 or 6 wickets in the middle of the afternoon.

Quite breezy today.

Hopefully should give some assistance to our bowlers.

Still a long way to go and a couple of quick wickets this morning will boost our confidence.

Perfect batting conditions, the breeze will nullify any swing. Not confident at all unfortunately. Going to be two very difficult to take defeats at home this season.

Two wickets this morning has given us a slight chance if winning this.

If they are 5 down by lunch I'll be more confident.

It’s over, Somerset have broken the back of it. Losing Yusuf was huge because Hogg is a liability, he’s far too expensive to be trusted in this run chase. Disappointed with Minto today too, he’s bowled far too short, hard to be too tough on kids though, he’s got plenty to learn but the time to do it. Killeen and Raine have bowled nicely but have had zero assistance from pitch or through air which was what I feared all along.

Our second innings batting lost us this game and some tough conversations need to be had in that dressing room afterwards because unfortunately, despite the talent we have got and the early season talk; we’re back firmly in a relegation battle.

The batting has been very poor in general all season in my opinion. Feels like the only time we’ve shown up really was for the Notts game.

The signing of Rhodes looks increasingly bizarre, especially when we look so light in the bowling department.

Gay has managed 5 ducks already.
