He played 164 tests, had a 21-year test career, and was the best player in the world from about 08/09 - 2012

I just don't think he won enough games, gave the strike to the tail enders too often and clearly played for his average, his average is 48 without bullying hopeless Bangladesh and Zimbabwe attacks, his run output is 40, that's with the caveat of him not touring very well outside of England, I see no reason to rate him above other bats who had a similar level of RPI and toured better, actually batted up and won games/serieses away.
