The 1st Final
Hello and welcome to Barbados for the first final of the World Beach Cricket Trophy: North East Lincolnshire vs Canberra.
Before the match we will look at the kit being used by the 2 teams, Canberra are wearing a red shirt with white trousers , the kit has been produced by Fila, the italian sportswear brand, and are sponsered by Cricket Australia, the bats have been produced by Slazenger.
NE Lincs are wearing Blue and white shirts with blue trousers produced by Adidas with the plane of British Airways sponsering them and Woodworm bats helping them with their runs.
Firstly ,the squad of the defending champions, arranged alphabeticly.
Jay Craddock (11) Captain. Allthough still in Primary School, Craddock is a pacey bowler who over the last 2 years has developed his batting a lot. He averages 25 with the ball, a great achivement in the batsman favoured game of beach cricket, he should be captain for the next 3 years.
Peter Docherty(14) The oldest of the squad, Docherty is a batsman with some handy off-spinners, he comes in at Number 3 and has pulled out many important innings for the NE Lincolnshire boys, and he hopes to cross 50 matches if he plays them all in the final series.
AJ Hughes(9) Already with a World Championship under his belt, opener Hughes averages over 100 in 29 matches. One of the most talented Beach Cricket players in the world, AJ is set for atleast 4 campaigns in addition to this one, a legend in the making?
Joe Jefferson(8) The young all-rounder is yet to play a game for NE Lincs but with some training he could be come a star.
Kenny Kirton(11) A young player who the manager doesn't seem to have much time for, with some precious training he could turn into a good player.
Bobby Paine(10) A talented batsman who played in many matches last year and the season before but has recently struggled to make the team. Blonde Bobby has recently developed a nickname between the older boys of "in the ass". The manager is reported to want him to develop to challenging the regulars in the team.
Andrew Snell(8) An amazing batsman and bowler, the number 4 in the order has played just 13 matches and has a best bowling of 4-34, his SR of 30 and batting SR of 170, makes him one of the most dangerous players in the world, if the team gets into injury difficulty he can bat anywhere in the order and still deliver his bowling if required.
Kevin Wishart(12) The hard-hitting batsman with a SR of 198, Kevin has piled up runs in his career so far and has made many important innings for NE Lincs, his average of 72 and 4 centuries shows what talent he has, his top score of 150 came after a first ball duck from the opener and many a time he has reduced or even eradicated a task for the lower order batsmen.
Coming Next: The Canberra team and opening overs.
