Not the most consistent in The World, but as demonstrated by the omission of his final series, much more consistent that that would suggest.

Well he's had an occasional good spell (the only one in Tests was the 6-for at Adelaide Oval), but he definately is one of those who either takes wickets or gets hammered, not often both at the same time.
At least, he was until about 2 years ago. From then he's just been pretty poor full-stop.

Still, he'd done poorly against Zimbabwe in the interim (Murali kinda stole the show that series).
And it still stands that the conditions in England weren't seam-friendly as sterotype would have it. They were much more Sri Lankan in nature.
