Never Say Nevill Season Summary
Overview
A disappointing campaign, that started off badly when we weren't allowed any sweet, sweet Nev action. While we were lowly seeded (again), I was confident of upsetting teh haterz, but we left our run too late. In fact, runs were the problem in general, with only one batsman making 200+ over the tournament. Lesson learned for next time I guess!
Squad Ranking -
1) Ranji Hordern (6 matches, 90 runs @ 30.00, S/R @ 102, 15 wickets @ 16.53, Econ @ 5.17, PpG @ 1.00)
What a babe. Made some very handy runs, and took his 15 wickets in our last 5 games. Best bowling of 5/25. One 50. Contender for All-Rounder of the tournament (or at least a bowler who can bat a bit).
2) Robert Peel (7 matches, 61 runs @ 20.33, S/R @ 47, 13 wickets @ 18.62, Econ @ 5.26, PpG @ 0.86)
Bobby! Played every game, and was quite effective. Best bowling of 4/32. Chipped in with the bat too, averaging 40 at one point.
3) Fred Martin (7 matches, 11 runs @ 3.67, S/R @ 69, 8 wickets @ 22.75, Econ @ 4.04, PpG @ 0.86)
Dependable, reliable Freddy. Always economical, and took wickets here-and-there. Excellent campaign.
4) JJ Ferris (5 matches, 10 runs @ 3.33, S/R @ 48, 7 wickets @ 19.71, Econ @ 4.18, PpG @ 1.20)
Ferris had a shocker of a first game, but came back strong to be an important part of the streak.
miles of bloody daylight
5) Herbert Sutcliffe (7 matches, 200 runs @ 33.33, S/R @ 65, PpG @ 0.86)
I expected more from Herb. Made a fantastic 105* off 100 balls, but nothing much else. One 100.
6) George Ulyett (6 matches, 29 runs @ 9.67, S/R @ 56, 6 wickets @ 31.83, Econ @ 5.46, PpG @ 0.67)
A very disappointing campaign for George. Known well as a hard-hitting all-rounder, he seldom delivered with the ball, and failed miserably with the bat.
7) George Lohmann (4 matches, 77 runs @ 38.50, S/R @ 73, 3 wickets @ 43.00, Econ @ 4.96, PpG @ 0.50)
Did nothing in his first three games, but was the match-winner in the last, making 47* off 52 balls, and taking 2/31.
8) Eric Rowan (7 matches, 180 runs @ 25.71, S/R @ 91, PpG @ 0.86)
His match-winning 83* off 50 balls was NSN's best innings of the tournament, but unfortunately he couldn't back it up. One 50.
9) Charlie Davis (6 matches, 127 runs @ 25.40, S/R @ 66, PpG @ 1.00)
Made a 50 in a losing cause. Congrats bud. One 50.
10) Rusi Modi (7 matches, 117 runs @ 19.50, S/R @ 75, PpG @ 0.86)
Looked good in his 60* off 70 balls, but also made 3 ducks. One 50.
11) Eddie Paynter (4 matches, 37 runs @ 9.25, S/R @ 73, PpG @ 1.00)
Top score of 18.
12) Colin Bland (2 matches, 16 runs @ 8.00, S/R @ 67, PpG @ 1.00)
Involved in a victory.
13) KC Ibrahim (2 matches, 9 runs @ 4.50, S/R @ 50, PpG @ 0.00)
What is wrong with you.
14) Graham Alexander (7 matches, 26 runs @ 5.20, S/R @ 47, PpG @ 0.86)
The anti-Nev. Go die in a fire.
