i feel that pakistan are a developing side, and are very inconsistant due to lack of maturity (how ever pakistan have been probably the most inconsistant team in world cricket for the last 20 years)

When the bowlers realise that pace isnt everything, and that you need to use your brain sometimes, then the bowling will get better...well more consistant anyway.I do think Kaneria (or however it is spelt) could become a very good spinner

The batting is also a bit up and down as well. The fat Man wont last forever,so they really need someone to step up and join Youhanna as a top class batsman.

The potential is there..but how long do we have to say that before the results improve. The worrying thing for pakistan is that i dont think the talent of the current team does match up to those of the 90's,, or even the late 80's,and those teams hardly won anything either.(apart from a world cup...hahahahaha)

pakistan were a top side in the 80s. even allan border said that if any team came close to matching the windies of that era it was pakistan.
and if people can say these things about pakistan then what about england .......they had been performing very poorly in the late 80s and the 90s.....newzealand(who have only been showing there form recently).....the windies who have lost god knows how many series in recent years....

even india were very poor in the late 90s .....this was because they were in a rebuilding phase just like pakistan are now......and just look at the indians now...

and paksiatn have won plenty of things ....more than many other sides.....series in india.....england....the world series(now the vb series) in 96...beaten austrailia on a number of occasions...they have been winning many tri series competitions.......countless sharjah tournaments..........

if winning the world cup was no big deal then why have teams like england not won it, and even south africa, newzealand.....

dont forget that paksitan wre 3rd in the test rankings b4 this series.....
and 4th in the odi rankings.......

both above india........

question is are they a good consistent test side?yes even now they are capable of beating the better teams, but they are also quite capable of losing to zimbabwe...yes even the schoolboy team.
