Robin Singh only ended up at #8 because Kumble was nightwatchman at #3. He batted seven in the second innings which is where he was selected to bat, and that made more sense.

Kinda disagree with ***** on the spin assessment of NZ's attack in the tour game. You don't need vary much in Indian conditions* when bowling spin. If you give the ball a lot of air it's easier to get to the pitch of the ball or go right back and play late, especially with guys like Santner who're going to struggle to beat people in the air. Craig is a bit different and I agree he shouldn't be bowling flat and quick like he supposedly was, but even then it's still not a bad option if you can't get your radar right trying to spin it big. Sodhi being a legspinner is obviously not going to bowl flat which I'm guessing is why he was the only threat on that flat Kotla wicket.

Basically they weren't bowling according to that wicket, they just wanted to practice what they'll actually do in the Tests.

* - assuming they produce turners again

Also don't do a Fiery on that £100 bet Howe
