Aussie one day team once Lehmann returns

Lehmann is not in the Australian one day team because he is injured and still has 1 match left before his one day bad is completed. We see Clarke playing so well in the one dayers and Symonds too is doing good. So who do you think will be preferred in the XI once Lehmann returns?

I know. But he will back ultimately. Its tough to imagine any of the current players getting dropped.

he might not get back into the ODI team - his main aim is the test team and he will almost definatley get back in there for the Sri Lanka tour, but by the time for the next ODI's after that tour, he will be 35 and may be considered too old for the teh ODI team

He'll probably get in ahead of Clarke. The Aussie selectors like putting their young players in their places.

All the same, an average of all but 65 speaks for itself...
Clarke could rightly feel aggrieved if he has a decent VB Series and gets dropped once Lehmann returns. The most recent speaks louder than the less, remember, and Lehmann can of course feel very aggrieved if his average, for a long career, is ignored, but the fact is Clarke has done a lot in a short space of time.
All we can hope for is that he has a poor VB Series.:D

You can hope. I wish him all the best. It will make all players lift their game so they don't miss out.

It is highly unlikely Clarke will have a bad series. The Zimbabweans will be up for the taking and the Clarke has found a liking for the Indian bowlers it seems. So it will be a huge selection dilemna to bring in Lehmann. To not bring him in would be unfair to Lehmann and to bring him would be unfair to Clarke.

Not when you realise how many ODIs Lehmann has played, how many tons and half tons he's scored, how many wickets he's taken...

Lehmann has been one of the stars of the ODI team in the last few years. Don't you think he would feel ripped off after all he's done? Clarke's got a good record, from not very many games. Experiance, performance and record win here.

Yes, without question Lehmann's deeds outdo Clarke's - Clarke has an exceptional average, but Lehmann has a very good one over a much, much longer period.
The question is, how will the selectors see it? Both could rightly feel aggrieved to miss-out on a first-choice place.
