.. the aggregate attendance for Yorkshire´s match at Scarborough a few weeks back. yes, sunshine, great venue, traditional fixture etc but nevertheless it shows the potential of the county game, especially if more outgrounds could come back into use.

Its strange the way the county game its often talked down or belittled. Frankly, it seems in better health than test cricket where half teams can barely be bothered and a top series is about to be replaced by one of those epic not-to-be-missed unforgettable tri-nation odi-series because India doesnt like the size of the South african dressing rooms or whatever.

Perhaps county cricket is the future.
