Stiaan van Zyl continued to shine for the Cobras, just missing out on his third hundred of the Sunfoil Series. Definitely must be discussed a possible replacement for the waning Jacques Kallis in the future. Obviously he's not an authentic all-rounder, but he bowls some useful seamers and a first-class 5-fer suggests he isn't too bad.
It'll be interesting to see if AB moves up to four, even if he's still holding the gloves.

I think AB will stay at 5. van Zyl at 4, Duminy at 6 and du Plessis at 7. Alviro Petersen may have to make way for Elgar/de Kock.

I think he's ultimately going to have a choice between batting four or wicket keeping. I don't think he should do both in Test cricket; five's the highest I'd want the keeper the bat.

I really hope de Kock can get some runs for the Lions before Kallis goes. Can then move de Villiers up to four and let him relinquish the gloves.

I find it hilarious that Rossouw got Van Zyl.

De Kock is also not having a great time - but neither is any of his top order partners.

Very funny. They've become good mates over the years with SA 'A' squad but they know deep down they're competing for the next spot after Elgar and then he gets him with his part-timers. I've seen Rilee joke about it with him on twitter too.

Dave Miller with a pair of hundreds too. Very happy for him.

With the bowling. de Lange, Morris and Viljoen probably kicking themselves not playing this round. Would say Birch being injured as well but he is more a Philander type.

Parnell five-for
Abbott five-for
Alexander five-for
Hendricks leading wicket-taker in Sunfoil series etc

Be mad if they turned to Kleinveldt

Good to see spin in the wickets too. Harmer, Coetsee, von Berg, Leie & Piedt all competing at the moment.

Not sure for how much longer Daryn Smit will be the preferred spinner ahead of Maharaj and Subrayen at the Dolphins but I suppose Smit's a team man and his batting form will keep him in the side and he can chip in with the odd wicket with their seamers doing so well.

I'm sure you aced them !  No just kidding, good luck when you get the results next month.

I didn't realise he was playing club cricket with Ntini until I read that.

Reckon the Warriors should throw Gqamane, Walters and Rabie into touch soon. Especially the latter two. Then promote Nortje, Nqweni and Sigwili to back up Parnell, Birch and Theron.

Overseas players for the RamSlam T20 that starts in Jan at the moment:

Cobras: Sunil Narine
Warriors:
Dolphins: Chris Gayle & Graham Onions
Knights: Shahid Afridi
Lions: Azhar Mahmood & Sohail Tanveer
Titans: Saeed Ajmal
Afridi has supposedly pulled out.

So it looks like the Warriors and Knights will have to bring out every bit of their under-dog fighting spirit again in this comp.

Starts with a triple header at Newlands on the 4th or 5th of Jan I think ? Should be decent entertainment.

Get them on the 31st, private schools woot woot etc. But yeah, won't do as well as I'd like but didn't put enough effort in anyway. So meh.

Ram Slam T20 starts with a triple header on 5 January at Newlands. All the Proteas are said to be competing. You would think if Kallis wants to play WC next year these events are key to keeping him sharp. Same can go for Smith if he wants to force his way back into the 50-over team.

So could be a decent series. Big names, some young talented players playing with our Proteas etc

We can also see if this 30-man Prelim squad for the WC was correct.

Any Saffers catch the Ram Slam triple header on Sunday ?

A few things caught my attention.

1.) Kyle Abbott's intensity and accuracy was saying I want to play test cricket for SA even in a T20.
2.) New kid on the block Edward Moore of the Warriors looked some talent. His square drives, pull shot and lofted straight drives on debut with wickets falling at the other end was damn impressive. Would like to see more of him but I'm quite excited tbh.
3.) How much have you got to love Simon Harmer on the mic going through every ball and his thought processes and then he executes it. Good head on his shoulders.
4.) Lions need to get rid of the turd Gulam Bodi.
5.) Reeza Hendricks lofted drives for 6 over cover. Yes please !
6.) Not much more to be said of Beuran Hendricks. Left-arm, quality action, swings it and can get quicker. 4 overs 6-29.
